I had a fantastic time with Emily and Jason at a local winery where they are members; such a personal touch for their engagement session! I made use of both the cozy indoor spaces and the sprawling outdoor grounds. I found beautiful patios and even stumbled upon a cool, rustic door that looked like it was pulled straight out of The Hobbit! I wrapped up the session with some classic, intimate photos among the wine barrels. It was a lovely, relaxed session that let their genuine connection shine. Cheers to the happy couple!

Choosing a location that holds significance, like a favorite winery, always adds a special layer of meaning to the photos. The varied scenery offered by the vineyard, from the rows of vines outside to the rustic, dark-wood ambiance inside, gave me a wide range of looks without ever leaving the property. I was able to capture everything from bright, airy outdoor photos to moody, romantic shots inside the cellar room with the towering barrels.

Emily and Jason were so fun and easygoing, effortlessly moving from pose to pose. Finding that unexpected “Hobbit door” was such a great surprise; it showed their sense of adventure and made for a truly unique portrait! Getting to know their shared interests and capturing them in a comfortable, familiar place made this session feel less like a shoot and more like a casual, joyful afternoon. I can’t wait to raise a glass to them on their wedding day!
