We met in downtown Leesburg, VA for Brianna and Michael’s engagement session! I spent some time on the main street getting photos of them walking through town, then we headed over to the courthouse lawn, which is covered by massive trees. I took a lot of fun candid photos there and wrapped up my day. This was super helpful to get to know them before their big day.
Downtown Leesburg is a fantastic setting because it offers so much classic character. The historic brick sidewalks, charming storefronts, and small-town feel provide a perfect backdrop for authentic, slice-of-life photos. I focused on capturing them in motion, walking, laughing, and interacting naturally, to emphasize their chemistry. Utilizing the architecture and small details of the town makes the pictures feel true to the local area and to their experience.
The stately courthouse lawn provided a perfect contrast to the busy street. The huge, mature trees created a beautiful canopy of soft, even light, ideal for those sweet, intimate portraits. Brianna and Michael were so much fun and had such an easy time just being themselves together. Getting to chat with them while moving between spots built a great level of comfort and rapport, ensuring they’ll be completely relaxed in front of the camera on their wedding day!
