Yesterday was one of those wedding days that just makes your heart feel full. Melody and Oscar were married at Trummer’s in Clifton, Virginia, a venue known for its charm and incredible light—but what made the day truly unforgettable was how deeply these two love each other, and how that love showed up in every part of their celebration.

All week, the forecast had been warning us to prep for rain. But the skies surprised us in the best possible way. Instead of gray drizzle, we got soft clouds and warm light, the kind of gentle brightness that photographers dream about. You could feel the relief and joy in the air: the weather turned into a gift, and the whole day flowed with ease.

Melody and Oscar chose to share a private first look and personal vows before the ceremony, and it was one of the most touching parts of the day. There’s something sacred about that quiet pause in the whirlwind, the way Oscar looked at her, the way Melody held her vows close before reading them out loud. It was tender and real, a moment just for them.

Then it was time to head to the ceremony site and wow. The space was absolutely stunning, with floor-to-ceiling windows that flooded the room with soft natural light. Guests were seated in this elegant, glowing space as Melody walked down the aisle, and the whole scene felt cinematic. There was laughter, there were tears, and above all, there was a deep sense of joy.

After the “I do’s,” the celebration truly began. The cocktail hour was lively and full of energy, clinking glasses, happy hugs, and the kind of warm conversation that happens when all your favorite people are in one place. And once the reception doors opened, the party moved to the dance floor where things got wild in the best way. These two and their guests danced well into the night, and the room was pulsing with love, joy, and the occasional impressive spin move.

Melody and Oscar, your day was everything: elegant, emotional, and so you. I’m so honored to have been there to document it all.
