Loudoun County Wedding Photographer

I live here. That's the short version.

The longer version: I'm based in Leesburg, I've shot weddings across Loudoun County for years, and I know this landscape the way you only can when it's actually yours. I know how the light moves across the Blue Ridge foothills in October. I know which fields look different in May versus September. I know that fall in Loudoun isn't just a season, it's the whole reason half the county's wedding venues exist.

If you're getting married in Loudoun County, you don't need a photographer who's read about your venue. You need one who's been there.

Reach out

I'm a preferred vendor at several of Loudoun County's most sought-after wedding venues. That's not a marketing line. It means I've worked alongside their coordinators, I know their timelines, and I'm not figuring out the light situation for the first time on your wedding day.

Venues I Know

A Federal-style estate in the heart of historic downtown Leesburg, built in 1770. The conservatory light is unlike anything else in Loudoun County. I've shot weddings here multiple times and it still stops me every time the afternoon sun comes through those windows.

Twenty-two acres in southeastern Loudoun County, about 10 minutes from Leesburg. Restored historic barn, Something Blue Cottage for getting ready, golden hour fields that go on as long as the light holds. I'm a preferred vendor here and it's one of my favorite properties to photograph in any season.

Sixty acres in Berryville, just over the Clarke County line. Full-service, ceremony and reception in one place, overnight accommodations on site. The greenery and the manor house itself give you portrait options that most venues can't touch.

The barn venue on the Historic Rosemont property. A different feel from the Manor, more rustic, with its own set of portrait spots and indoor ceremony options that hold up beautifully when the weather doesn't cooperate.

Right in Leesburg, off Limestone School Road. Picturesque countryside feel without the long drive. The barn is modern and the natural light inside is generous. Great for couples who want that countryside aesthetic without asking their guests to travel an hour from DC.

I cap my calendar at 20 weddings a year. That's not a sales tactic, it's how I make sure every couple gets real attention. You won't be one of forty weddings I'm cycling through. I'll know your venue, I'll know your timeline, and I'll have thought about your specific day before I ever show up with a camera.

I bring a second shooter to every wedding. In Loudoun County, where venues often have outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions happening in different parts of a large property, two photographers means nothing gets missed in the transition.

My style is documentary. I'm not directing a photoshoot. I'm watching the day happen and staying in the right position when it does. The photos look like your wedding felt, not like a version of your wedding where everyone was slightly aware of the camera.

What working with me looks like

One of the things that makes this county unusual for weddings is that it genuinely photographs differently depending on when you get married.

Loudoun County in Every Season

Fall is the obvious one. October light in Loudoun County is something photographers talk about for good reason. The fields are gold, the Blue Ridge backdrop shifts into color, and the venues that are already beautiful become something else entirely. Fall dates book fast, usually 12 to 18 months out.

Spring is underrated. The vineyards and estates come back to life in May with a softness that summer light never quite matches. Mornings are cool, the greens are vivid, and the days are long enough that you're not racing the sunset.

Summer is real. The heat is real. But Loudoun summers also bring dramatic skies, golden hours that stretch past 8 PM, and the kind of rich, saturated light that makes portraits look like they were lit by a professional crew. You just plan the portrait time carefully.

Winter weddings at Loudoun's barn venues and manor houses are their own thing entirely. The Something Blue Cottage at Halcyon Watson, the carriage house at Rosemont, the conservatory at Birkby House all photograph with a warmth in winter that counters everything going on outside. Some of my favorite galleries came from December and January.

How far in advance should I book for a Loudoun County wedding?
For fall dates, especially October Saturdays, 12 to 18 months is the realistic window. Spring and summer tend to have a bit more flexibility, but popular venues like Birkby House and Halcyon Watson fill their calendars early. I cap at 20 weddings per year, so the sooner you reach out, the better your options.

Do you only shoot at the venues you listed?
Not at all. Those are the venues where I have preferred vendor status and the most experience, but I've shot across Loudoun County and the broader Northern Virginia region. If your venue isn't on that list, reach out. There's a good chance I've been there or I'll do the research before I show up.

Are you based in Loudoun County?
Yes. I'm based in Leesburg. That matters practically because I know this area well, not because proximity is a selling point.

Do you travel outside Loudoun County?
I do. I photograph weddings across Northern Virginia, into Clarke County, the Shenandoah Valley, and into DC and Maryland. Travel fees apply depending on distance.

What's included in your packages?
Every wedding includes a second shooter, online gallery with full print rights, and a complimentary engagement session. Full details are on my Experience page.
