Northern Virginia is a big place. I know a specific part of it really well.
I'm based in Leesburg, which puts me in the middle of Loudoun County's wine country and about 45 minutes from DC. The venues I work at most often sit in a rough triangle between Leesburg, Berryville, and Alexandria. I know that terrain. how the light moves through it, what the roads look like at 5 AM when I'm driving to a getting-ready location, and which venues have coordinators who run a tight ship.
I'm a preferred vendor at several of Northern Virginia's most sought-after wedding venues. That's not a marketing line. It means I've worked alongside their coordinators, I know their timelines, and I'm not figuring out the light situation for the first time on your wedding day.
Historic Federal-style estate in downtown Leesburg, built in 1770. One of my preferred vendor venues. The new conservatory, the garden ceremony space, the carriage house. it's a property that rewards a photographer who knows it.
Twenty-two acres, restored historic barn in southeastern Loudoun County. Preferred vendor here as well. Golden hour at this venue is one of the reasons I love Loudoun County in the fall.
Sixty acres just over the Clarke County line. Full-service venue with ceremony and reception in one place, plus overnight accommodations. The greenery against the manor house makes for portrait options most venues can't offer.
The barn property on the Historic Rosemont estate. More rustic than the Manor, with its own distinct set of portrait locations and a beautiful indoor ceremony option.
A modern farmhouse barn right in Leesburg with strong natural light and a countryside feel without a long drive.
Twenty-seven acres on the Potomac River, four miles south of Old Town Alexandria. Once part of George Washington's original farmland, now the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society. The gardens photograph beautifully across all seasons, and the Potomac backdrop during portraits is something couples remember.
Documentary style. I'm not directing a photoshoot. I'm watching your day unfold and staying in position when something worth capturing is about to happen. The photos look like your wedding felt, not like a version of your wedding where everyone was slightly aware of the camera.
I cap at 20 weddings per year. I bring a second shooter to every one. Those two things together mean you get real attention and complete coverage, not a rushed gallery from a photographer who booked 40 weekends.
Where exactly are you based?
Leesburg, Virginia. I primarily serve Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Clarke County, and the broader Northern Virginia region, with regular work in DC and Maryland.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. The venues listed above are the ones I know best, but I've shot across Northern Virginia and regularly travel for the right couples. Travel fees apply for weddings outside my standard service area.
How far in advance should I book?
For fall dates in Northern Virginia, 12 to 18 months is realistic. October Saturdays at venues like Halcyon Watson and Birkby House fill early. I keep my calendar intentionally small, so the sooner you reach out the better.
Do you bring a second photographer?
Yes, every wedding. In Northern Virginia, where venues often have outdoor ceremonies and indoor receptions across large properties, two photographers means nothing gets missed in the transition.
What's included?
Every wedding includes a second shooter, online gallery, full print rights, and a complimentary engagement session. Full details on the Experience page.
