Baltimore Engagement Session | Rachel & Karan

There’s something so special about photographing people you’ve known for years, especially when they’ve found the kind of love that feels both joyful and deeply rooted. I’ve known Rachel since high school, and getting to reconnect for her engagement session with Karan felt like such a full-circle moment.

We met up in the heart of Baltimore on a bright sunny morning. The city gave us the perfect mix of charm and edge. Rachel and Karan started in classic, modern outfits for that clean, timeless feel, and right away I could see how grounded and easy their connection is. They had this gentle rhythm together, like they’ve always just gotten each other.

But the real magic happened when they changed into traditional Indian attire toward the end of our session. The colors, the textures, the way Rachel absolutely glowed—it was such a stunning visual shift and a beautiful way to honor Karan’s cultural heritage. Karan looked so proud standing beside her, and honestly, I got a little choked up watching them lean into that part of their story together. It felt celebratory and reverent at the same time.

This session reminded me why I love what I do. Not just capturing beautiful portraits, but documenting the real, layered stories behind them. Rachel and Karan, thank you for trusting me with this moment in your journey. I cannot wait for your wedding day.
