I had the best time photographing Elizabeth and Mike’s engagement session in Washington, DC! We spent the evening at a beautiful waterfront park, and the whole session was just effortless and full of genuine connection.
From the moment these two showed up, it was so obvious how in love they are. The way Mike looked at Elizabeth, the way she laughed at everything he said, it was the kind of love that just radiates, and my camera absolutely loved it.
We started by wandering through the park, taking advantage of the gorgeous greenery and open spaces. Then we made our way down to the water, and oh my goodness, the waterfront views made for the most stunning backdrop. There’s something about the way the light plays off the water that adds so much warmth and romance to photos, and Elizabeth and Mike soaked it all in.
We also grabbed some beautiful shots along the walking path, which gave us a more relaxed, strolling-hand-in-hand kind of vibe. Those candid, in-between moments where they were just being themselves, talking to each other, stealing kisses, laughing, those ended up being some of my absolute favorites from the session.
Elizabeth and Mike are such a sweet couple, and it was an honor to capture this special season of their lives together. I cannot wait for their wedding day! If their engagement session was any indication, it’s going to be absolutely incredible.
